Aoraki / Mt Cook Wedding Photography
Just wrapped one of the most unforgettable wedding shoots I’ve ever done right in the stunning embrace of Mt Cook, New Zealand. And wow. Just... wow.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to shoot in some pretty epic places, but Aoraki / Mt Cook has a kind of magic that hits different. Maybe it’s the stillness of the alpine air, the drama of those snow-dusted peaks, or how the light sneaks through the clouds like it’s trying to paint a love story of its own.
My couple? Absolute legends. They were up for anything, wind whipping through her veil, hiking in formalwear just to catch that perfect glacial backdrop. And honestly, that’s what makes the difference. The photos were gorgeous, yes, but it was the energy that made the day. Genuine laughs, quiet moments, warm hugs in the most beautiful places. That kind of raw, real love is what I live to capture.
We shot at first light near Tasman Lake clouds still hanging low over the mountains. Later, we found a spot overlooking the Muller lake that felt like our own little world. Only a few other people there, no noise just the sound of boots crunching gravel and two people crazy in love.
If you're ever thinking of getting married or doing a shoot in New Zealand, put Mt Cook on your list. It’s remote, a bit wild, and insanely photogenic. Just like love should be, right?
Can’t wait to be back there soon. Aoraki, you’ve got my heart. 🏔️📸💍
